| Tiivistelmä: | Distinction is made between Japanese managers thinking in terms of the group and American managers thinking in terms of the individual. That Japanese management style can work in the United States is proven by the manufacturing plants opened there by Japanese car makers: Honda, Toyota, and Nissan. Emphasis is put upon the socio-technical systems of these Japanese transplants integrating people with the technical system. That the Japanese managers attribute high quality and efficiency more to smart workers than to sophisticated technology, is underlined. |
