| Tiivistelmä: | Those sectors of industry are identified at a community level which will be mostly affected by the White Paper measures. One of the basic assumption was that the more sensitive sectors are those which are protected by non-tariff barriers. Such barriers limit the exploitation of economies of scale or permit large price discrepancies between member states. By combining these different criteria, it has proved possible to identify 40 industrial sectors out of the 120 which will be particularly affected by the 1992 deadline. For some of these sectors, the internal market offers the opportunity to become a force at world level. Such is the case with high-tech sectors. The future of more traditional sectors are also examined. |
