Tiivistelmä: | It is explored how the mental models of organizational strategists determine perceptions of competing organizations and responses to competitive conditions. First a cognitive perspective is outlined for discussing competitive strategy, and than this framework is used to analyse the particular case of the Scottish knitwear industry. It is shown how the structure of that industry both determines and is determined by managerial perceptions of the environment. In conclusion a few general implications of this framework are drawn out for research and theory on competitive strategy. |
