| Tiivistelmä: | China's national economy has presented the characteristics of sustained and rapid growth. The economic growth rate was 9.3% in 1991 and reached 14.2% and 13.5% in the two years after 1991. It maintained a high growth rate of 11.8% in 1994. Even under the tight policy in 1995, it was still kept at 10.2%. The growth rate averaged over 11% during the period of the Eighth Five-Year Plan. The total volume of social funds was 2160 billion yuan in 1991, 2660 billion yuan in 1992, 3450 billion yuan in 1993, 4500 billion yuan in 1994 and 5350 billion in 1995. The volume of social funds newly created during the period of the Eighth Five-Year Plan totalled more than 18,000 billion yuan. |
