| Tiivistelmä: | The authors introduce a heuristic approach to the vehicle scheduling problem with sliding time windows. In the problem with time windows it is utilized that the starting time of each task must fall within a given time interval (i.e. a time window) rather then being fixed. Allowing the time windows of certain tasks to slide adds another level of flexibility. The technique is first developed for time windows, then it is extended to sliding windows. Numerical results illustrate the efficiency of the approach. |
