| Tiivistelmä: | A profit-sharing system necessarily distributes the business risk between the owner and the worker. The characteristics of a wage system and a profit-sharing system are compared. Profit sharing plans are classified into two broad types: cash distribution plans and deferred distribution plans. Examples of government encouragement of profit-sharing schemes in many western countries are given. The influence of profit-sharing on productivity, workers' efforts, income risk-sharing are examined. The incentive effect is analyzed in connection with the degree of risk aversion of the workers. |
