| Tiivistelmä: | The world is in the midst of a telecommunications revolution. Although businesses in the United States can obtain telecommunications services in a free market environment, this is not the case throughout the world. Managers who operate in the multinational arena must be aware of the restrictions and regulations governing the flow of data across national borders. As many countries liberalize access to telecommunications services, managers of the multinational firms must understand the current environment and its implications. Some of the barriers characteristic to the current technological, economic, political and legal, and socio-cultural environments are described and discussed. A few cases taken from Europe are examined. |
