| Tiivistelmä: | The automobile industry has been severely affected by the energy crisis. The substantial rise in user-costs of vehicle has been a strong incentive for automobile firms to develop the use of lighter materials, especially technoplastics and thermomechanical ceramics. Experience gained from this trend towards lighter materials has proved that they can tangibly reduce production costs if their capacity to redesign vehicles is fully exploited. Several theoretical and practical questions, connected with the process of innovation, are addressed. Special attention is paid to the case of interruption in the process. The rules of the right interruption behaviour are determined. |
