While the EMU economies seem to converge irrevocably in spite of problems on the world's financial market, the non-EMU markets in the north have shown disparate developments recently. The Norwegian kroner weakened and the central bank put up rates; the Danish central bank also hiked rates as currency outflows threatened the stability of its currency. |
