| Tiivistelmä: | Despite the perception by many of the declining competitiveness of USA manufacturing across a broad range of sectors including the high technology sectors, foreign direct investment in USA manufacturing has grown at rapid rates. This topic is especially interesting in light of the importance of foreign direct investment for economic development at the state level. A conditional model of the location decision of foreign firms investing in manufacturing facilities in the United States is developed and estimated for the period 1981-83. |
