| Tiivistelmä: | Boards of directors have to produce accounts in order to comply with company law, including the identification of the amount of distributable profit. They have to send them to their shareholders, as a report on their stewardship, including an explanation of their recommendation as regards a dividend. Publicly quoted companies go further, in that they prepare a glossy brochure which describes the business the company is in, records their "mission", comments on the achievement of objectives, and generally serves as a public relations exercise. Why should a company do this? |
