| Tiivistelmä: | The author made a study of the regional disparity by using the variance coefficient of rural per capita total social output value as the indicator of regional disparity. The results in most of provinces in China between counties in most of provinces in China became larger. At provincial level, the average variance coefficient rose from 0.486 in 1985 to 0.677 in 1990, up 39.3%. If the whole country's counties are regarded as one unit, the results show the even much larger growth range of variance coefficient which increased from 0.869 in 1985 to 1.325 in 1990, up as high as 52.4%. |
