| Tiivistelmä: | Asian sport is now big business. Stadium attendances and TV ratings have soared, and corporate sponsors are tripping over each other to tap sport's pulling power. Wheeling away from the goal, Feng Jiang Guo is enveloped by the roar of 50,000 fans. The Jinan stadium is packed to capacity, and Feng's 55th-minute goal has just put the home side ahead of league heavyweights Shanghai. The cheering continues to the final whistle, as Jinan sends Shanghai packing 1-0. Far more astounding than Jinan's upset victory, however, is the size of the crowd at this September football match in eastern China. |
