Tiivistelmä:It's a good thing the Japanese are patient. For a decade now, pundits, analysts and journals have contended that financial liberalization would make it increasingly hard to justify a national Postal Savings System that competes with private banks. The enormous savings scheme, known as Yucho, lives on nonetheless, a pillar of the economy and effectively the world's largest bank. It's the Japanese government's easiest source of capital, and the state puts it to use - mainly through a vast system of government-backed lending.
