Tiivistelmä: | Open Innovation (here as: OI) requires extensive empirical investigation, development and testing. This paper analyzes Procter and Gamble's (here as: P-and-G.) 'Connect and Develop' strategy as a case study of the major organizational and technological changes (latter as: t-chgs.) associated with OI. It is argued that more analysis is entitled into the ways t-chgs. have facilitated OI strategies, especially related to new product development. Information (as: info.) and communications technologies enable the exchange of distributed sources of info. in the OI process. The case study shows that furthermore a suite of new technologies for data mining, simulation, prototyping and visual representation, what is called as 'innovation technology', help to support OI at P-and-G. |
