| Tiivistelmä: | In recent years, the transition economies of central and eastern Europe have increasingly attracted foreign direct investment (FDI) from regions other than western Europe and North America. Transactional corporations from the Republic of Korea have contributed to significant changes in the composition of source countries for FDI in the transition economies. For instance, in 1996, Korea became the biggest foreign investor in Poland with Daewoo's planned investment of USD 1.1 billion in FSO. |
