| Tiivistelmä: | A milestone in the evolution of "perestroika" in the USSR occurred in January 1987 when new rules permitting equity joint ventures between Soviet and foreign partners were established. The characteristics of the first 105 USA-USSR joint ventures in the USSR is examined using their main statistical data. Taking into account the economic, political and legal context of these joint ventures, their current status along with the prospects for future USA investment in joint ventures in the USSR is calculated to be prosperous. Recent particular problems of joint ventures in the USSR stem from the unfavourable economic climate and political infrastructure. |
