| Tiivistelmä: | This paper takes a look at how international trade is affecting air pollution emissions in the USA's shipping. Air pollution from ships affects locally, nationally and globally. In this study the economic costs of this increasing and unregulated form of environmental damage were investigated. Total emissions and the economic costs of shipping emissions in the USA from 1993 to 2001 were analyzed with the aid of previous studies. The results showed that total emissions from ships are largely increasing which is result from the increase in foreign commerce. |
