Local industrialists in India are complaining that foreigners are trying to take over joint ventures or are setting up wholly-owned enterprises that would compete directly with the joint ventures. General Electric's director says that "if the consumer is winning, there can't be anything wrong "... whereas indian industrialists claim multinationals to have an unfair advantage. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has attacked the economic activities of multinationals in India. The CII wants multinationals to do business in only areas where local industry is weak. However, it has nothing against foreign investments. |
