| Tiivistelmä: | As the opening policy is implemented and the strategy of economic development adjusted since the beginning of the reform, the proportion of manufactures in export exceeds rapidly that of primary products. The former had made up 86.9% in 1997. Great progress also has been made in both increasing the value added to export products and diversifying them. Labor intensive products have become dominant in export. Import of primary products, especially the raw materials and agricultural products short in China, increases relatively rapidly. The proportion of manufactures in import decreases to some extent. The factors for the improvement of the structure of export goods include deepening of the reform of economic system and the great impetus from the opening policy. |
