| Tiivistelmä: | This article concentrates on two current streams that analyze internal and external governance mechanisms. First, governance practices aimed at handling complex problems internally are investigated. Second, the importance of formal and informal governance arrangements that organizations use in managing their relationships with external parties are discussed. It is argued that an integrated approach helps to develop a more holistic view on the effectiveness and efficiency of multiple corporate governance mechanisms. |
