Tiivistelmä: | Traditionally, cooperative arrangements were often seen as second best to the strategic option of going-it-alone in the larger firms. In the last few years there appears to have been a proliferation on international joint ventures, licensing, co-production agreements, joint research programs, exploration consortia, and other cooperative relationships between two or more potentially competitive firms. In entering a market or undertaking a new business, a firm should choose between a fully-owned investment and the alternative of cooperating with another firm. This internalization versus cooperation choice is examined in terms of a benefit/cost framework. |
