| Tiivistelmä: | The symptoms of the environmental crisis call into question the traditional concepts and principles of rationality. An ecology-oriented analysis of companies' environment is presented. Different environmental sectors are identified: economic, political, socio-cultural, technological etc.. The challenges and problems posed by these environmental sectors are described and analyzed. An ecology-oriented concept of efficiency is developed and applied to the production, investments, and environmental protection. A system of criteria is developed as an aid to the appraisal of management instruments. |
