Tiivistelmä:Two definitions of globalization are examined. Both suggest that globalization requires people to make sense of turbulence in order to create processes that keep resources moving to locations of competitive advantages. Under the topic of sensemaking, first information processing in the global organization, specifically tools to deal with equivocal information are described, and second, sensemaking in teams, with particular attention on the creation of requisite variety is investigated. Then some issues of organizational form and design are highlighted, first, the question of changes in skills needed to move to global activity, and second, the generic form that may be best suited to deal with the uncertainties of management.
