| Tiivistelmä: | A survey aiming at defining what is political risk, and then at studying all methods of political risk assessment and management is presented. Classical methods of political risk assessment consisting of building an index or a check-list of leading factors in a ranking scale, and new methods, such as dynamic segmentation, scenario and data processing are analyzed. It is concluded that the latter is often more useful at a macroeconomic level. It is argued that before investing and contracting, consideration should be given to new forms of international investments, as flexible and associative. Over the investment period, self protection has to be balanced with insurance. |
