| Tiivistelmä: | For all the positive attributes, the technology of portable personal computers also introduces a heightened risk to data security. Stories are cited when the theft of a computer implied loss of valuable data, too. PC manufacturers are slowly addressing the unique security needs of portable PCs using a variety of hardware and software techniques. E.g., Compaq Computer Corp's Portable 486c color computer carries a number of built-in security features, including a power-on password, a keyboard password, a disk lock/screen blank function and diskette boot control. A selected list of security products for portable PCs is presented. |
