Tiivistelmä:This study uses confirmatory factor analyses (LISREL) with maximum likelihood estimation to investigate the item-level psychometric properties of two measures of perceived worker control in multiple, independent samples. Two separate, two-factor solutions, skill discretion and decision authority were hypothesized for the job decision latitude scale, and general control and predictability, for the work control scale. Support was found for two factor solutions in scales across multiple, independent samples, but several items did not load on their hypothesized dimensions. The conclusions reaffirm Ganster's (1989) concern about the conceptual confusion surrounding the operationalization and definition of job-related control.
