| Tiivistelmä: | Following years of steady growth in the early and mid 1990s, international arrivals to Scotland slumped in 1999 and declined by a further 6.7 % in 2000. The key problem is attracting visitors from the key western European marketsand emerging eastern/central European destinations. The Scottish Tourist Board has identified the fact that a serious problem now exists and has established a model for competitiveness to try and encourage a more pro-active tourist friendly approach from tourism businesses. |
