| Tiivistelmä: | The case of Pratt and Whitney Canada is examined. To respond to new demands, the company synchronized its manufacturing operation. New manufacturing measures and methods for quality are shown. Synchronous manufacturing is not simply another just-in-time (JIT) approach. It offers specific advantages over JIT to help an operation meet delivery schedules, and it can be applied successfully in any manufacturing environment. Changing the collective mind-set of the organization is a requirement for effectively implementing this new manufacturing strategy. |
