| Tiivistelmä: | The rapid change and the strong competition resulting from the introduction of the single European market in 1992 means that companies have to orient themselves increasingly to a variety of customers' requirements. The associated efforts enhance the flexibility and rentability of the company. Different types of production should be concurrently used. As a consequence of closer deadlines, short-term production control is needed to meet a number of new challenges. The main tasks and procedures of short-term production control are described. The results of a study conducted in a pilot company are summarized. |
