| Tiivistelmä: | The basic situation of commercial enterprises in 1997 can be summarized as stable development and intense competition. The nominal growth rate of retail sales of the whole society's consumer goods presents a trend of falling month by month. By the end of 1997, there were 86 listed companies under three major categories-department store, tourist hotel and material circulation. In terms of state of business operation, they had different characteristics. The profits of the companies belonging to department store grew steadily but slowly. The companies belonging to tourist hotel had strong ability of making profits, safe and perfect financial structure and great potential of development. The performance of the companies belonging to material circulation was poor and there was certain risk in financial structure. |
