| Tiivistelmä: | Reporting on Environmental Behavior in Trading Companies. The aim of this German Austrian project was to find out whether the input-output analysis for the material and energy flow of a company site is also an appropriate tool for environmental management within trading companies. The background for the project was the introduction of the EMAS guidelines as well as the ISO 14000. Both certificates try to establish an environmental standard within European companies.The project team worked together with some Austrian and German trading companies which had to collect data material. The second part of the project was an Austria wide questionnaire among 500 trading companies about the development on the environmental management within the company. The main outcome is an environmental ratio system which simplifies the environmental decision making process. |
