| Tiivistelmä: | Structural change on a global scale has increased the difficulties of management and the importance of efficiency. Consequently economists focus increasingly on questions of the influence of organizational size on economic performance. First the results of Austrian empirical research in this field are presented. Then the outcomes of a regional study on the Upper Austrian industrial plants are discussed. It is shown that depending on plant size there are highly significant differences of profitability, labour productivity and labour cost per employee but not of propensity to invest between the regional study and a few conclusions are drawn. |
