| Tiivistelmä: | The objective of this paper is to analyse the concept of self-organization and its basic characteristics from the viewpoint of knowledge flows. These characteristics offer a way to understand how self-organization emerges from lower-level or local interaction. Findings show that knowledge flows can act as an enabling factor and facilitator for self-organization. |
