| Tiivistelmä: | Early-stage innovative entrepreneurs should be helped by external bodies. The literature points to the economic value of this help but records many drawbacks as well. Evidence is given for Canada and the USA that the failure rate is not as great as would appear from the popular press. Nevertheless,big gaps exist in our knowledge of the whole process of early-stage innovation,of why and how failure occurs,and how to choose among the various modes of support. |
