| Tiivistelmä: | The promising number of newly-founded firms is at present matched by an ominously high number of insolvencies and corporate crises, which leads to conclude that the risks involved in setting up a business enterprise have increased significantly. In this phase, exceptional circumstances may seem to be the norm in many firms, and in most firms the number of crises increases. But such a situation may also offer exceptional opportunities. These issues are examined from the standpoint of management and it is considered to what extent management in an acute crisis can be compared with management in situations offering exceptional opportunities. Attention is focused primarily on forms of effective management in exceptional circumstances. |
