| Tiivistelmä: | The reception of the globalisation discourse in Business Studies has been increasingly scrutinsed during the last couple of years. This paper reviews the debate and argues in favour of a position, which conceives globalisation as a phenomenon that has to be primarily understood from a political and social science perspective. Based on this discussion the paper analyses the impact of globalisation on the field of corporate environmental management. The key issue here is seen in the fact that governments of nation states loose power through globalisation, which entails some fundamental changes for the way companies deal with environmental issues. |
