| Tiivistelmä: | The authors of the article state that the transformation of professional football "clubs" into football "corporations" begs the question of who are the residual claimants of the football corporation, whose interests matter, and what mechanisms need to be implemented for the protection and enforcement of stakeholders' interests. Motivated by the recent theoretical literature on the governance of corporations, the present article takes an economic perspective to discuss the design and allocation of residual control rights in the football corporation. The paper provides a substantial list of references on this subject. |
