Tiivistelmä:A comparative test of two psychological theories concerning the relationship between affect and performance is provided. Results are consistent in supporting the happier-and-smarter as opposed to the sadder-but-wiser hypothesis, since they show positive relationships between dispositional affect and performance. The results are discussed in terms of their relevance to both the older literature on links between satisfaction and performance and the wore recent controversy over the dispositional approach to job attitudes. Managerial simulations are used to test whether people who are positive in disposition perform better or worse both decisional and interpersonal tasks.
