| Tiivistelmä: | The recent situation of the universities in East Germany is examined. The chances of students, the level of the education, and the equipment of the institutes are assessed, they are compared to those of the universities in West Germany. It is found that in spite of every improvement certificates issued by East German universities they are not so highly appreciated than those provided in West Germany. However, a lot of students can be found in East Germany, because in West only a third of the candidates can get a place at the university at which they want to study. |
