| Tiivistelmä: | This article examines the current state of the timeshare indusry in the USA. Having had a deservedly bad press in the past, thanks to unscrupulous direct mail operators, inexperienced entrepreneurs and a tendency to offer facilities whose economic value was questionable, the industry has now cleaned itself up and is showing impressive growth, prompting major companies such as Marriott and Disney to become involved. The author analyzes the benefits now accruing from timeshare and describes some of the successful schemes in operation. |
