What's required in an accounting system is accuracy, reliability and ease of use, not "rocket science". In this traditional context, the risks involved in standing too near the "bleeding edge", as computer users like to call it, outweigh the potential benefits. The equation is looking a bit different as accountants working within finance departments become increasingly interested in providing other parts of the organisation with management information. |
