| Tiivistelmä: | The paper analyzes the role of the 'green' standard of BS 7750 in 11 Danish firms. It discusses why firms seek certification according to this voluntary standard. In addition to possible greening effects, this paper identifies 4 other types of effects more orientated towards the management of firm. The 'green' standard is mobilized not only to protect environment but also to act as a managerial technology. |
