Tiivistelmä:This article examines the relationship between team diversity (hereafter as: TD) and team performance (hereafter as: TP) when the effects of TD and demographic social context are conjoined. It responds to three hypothesis set: firstly, TP will be partially explained by the interactions between team ethnic-, gender- and tenure diversity. Secondly, interactions between TD and the demographic characteristics of team managers can explain TP. Thirdly, the effects of TD on TP will be moderated by the degree of diversity in sales districts. Using a study of 365 sales teams in a large U.S. company this article finds support for the demographic context moderating relationships between TD and TP.
