Tiivistelmä:This paper provides the 1st study of intergenerational transmissions in immigrant self-employment (herein as: s-e.) across three generations (here as: gen/s.). Based on a Swedish data set, it is shown that having a self-employed (as: s-ed.) father, as well as having a s-ed. grandfather, has a positive effect on s-e. propensities for male 3rd-gen. immigrants. For native Swedes having a s-ed. father is of importance for s-e. propensities, while having a s-ed. grandfather is not. Thus, there seems to be a generational link in s-e. across three generations for immigrants, but not for natives. Since immigrants transfer general s-e. abilities, 3rd-gen. immigrants with s-ed. ancestors are over-represented in the s-e.
