| Tiivistelmä: | Although accountants' litigation is perceived as an invention of relatively recent US vintage, the fact is that the first reported decision involving accountants' liability occurred in England in 1857. It was not until 1906 that there was any reported decision involving an accountant in the United States. Unfortunately, during the 1970s and1980s, US courts managed to expand the concepts of accountants' liability beyond anything that had been known until then. |
