Tiivistelmä:This paper discusses how do senior business executives' preference rankings for various ethical principles relate to the way they see the future. Survey data of 585 vice presidents of US businesses suggest that: (1) there is a distinct set of principles of ethical conduct that is consideredn favourable among a list of 14 ethical principles; (2) the executives believed that their own individual ethical preferences are better than those of other executives; (3) the strength of their preferences for ethical principles is related to whether the executives are relatively near-future orientated or more distant-future orientated; and (4) there are very few remarkable differences in terms of gender, age, education level, private/public education, and length of job experience.
