| Tiivistelmä: | Almost without exception, economic studies of labour migration in less developed countries /LDCs/ focus on the potential contributions that migration may make to the absolute income of the migration unit /individual, family or a household/. An earlier work is expanded in this paper by addressing the role of absolute income versus relative deprivation incentives for internal and international migration in LDC households, taking into account continuities across some labour markets and discontinuities across others. The rationale of this analysis is threefold. |
