| Tiivistelmä: | There is a second front in the tobacco wars, the relatively obscure struggle to pressure the tobacco industry to produce what is called a "fire-safe" cigarette. Although resembling the larger drama that has been played out recently as tobacco has been placed under scrutiny for the effects of smoking on health, the story is more than a microcosm of the larger battle. Minor redesign would render cigarettes fire-safe, but the tobacco industry has chosen to resist such a change with all its ingenuity. |
