| Tiivistelmä: | This work presents a classification of the manufacturing strategies of large industrial companies in Spain. For this purpose various international studies on alternative manufacturing strategies have been taken as a reference, reviewed and compared. The database was made up of information on 114 factories from a survey mailed to the industrial companies which in 1994 employed over 200 workers. This paper defends the fact that large industrial companies compete in manufacturing, basically following three alternative criteria: flexibility, quality or delivery. |
